Violet Johnson, age 96, of Glencoe, Minnesota, and formerly of Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016, from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M., one hour prior the service at the church.
Obituary
Violet Verna (Stage) Johnson was born on September 21, 1920, in Springfield, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Theodore and Hulda (Thram) Stage. Violet was baptized as an infant and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 9, 1933. She received her education at a country school.
On April 16, 1942, Violet was united in marriage to Niels Christian (Christ) Johnson at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn, Minnesota. The couple lived in Sleepy Eye for five years before moving to a farm near Morgan. In December of 1956, they moved to Hector where they lived for three years. Violet and Christ then lived and farmed on a farm to the north between Buffalo Lake and Hector. Later Violet moved to Orchard Estates in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with six children, Edna, Alfred, Willard, Donna, Dennis and Ervin. Violet and Christ shared over 61 years of marriage together until Christ passed away on November 13, 2003.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Violet worked at Fingerhut and Green Giant. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. Violet was also a member of the neighborhood birthday club.
Violet was a hard worker. She enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, putting together puzzles, playing cards, camping and fishing. Violet loved the many trips her and Christ took to California to visit her family. She treasured all the moments she spent with her family and friends.
Violet passed away on December 7, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 96 years, 2 months and 16 days.

Violet is preceded in death by her Parents, Theodore and Hulda Stage; Husband, Niels Christian (Christ) Johnson; Son, Ervin Johnson; Siblings, 3 Brothers and 1 Sister.
