Wallace “Wally” Plath, age 75, of Hutchinson, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 11, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
A visitation will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Friday from 8:00 to 9:00 A.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Wallace “Wally” Benhard Plath was born on December 21, 1941, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was the son of Benhard and Martha "Tootsie" (Schroeder) Plath. Wally was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth both at West Lynn Church in Lynn Township. He received his education in Hutchinson and he was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1960.
Wally moved from the family farm into Hutchinson in the spring of 1968.
Wally worked as a janitor at Ridgewater College in Hutchinson for 33 years and retired in 2010.
Wally was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Wally loved watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins baseball team. He also enjoyed playing Schafkopf, horseshoes, and bingo.
When Wally needed assistance with his daily care, he became a resident at Harmony River Living Center on July 9, 2017. He passed away there on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at the age of 75 years.

Cousins;
Many other relatives and friends.
Wally is preceded in death by his Parents, Benhard and Martha "Tootsie" Plath; and many aunts and uncles.
