Service Information
Wanda M. Field, age 89, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Vineyard United Methodist Church in Hutchinson with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Visitation will be held, 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service, for one and half hours prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Wanda Mae (Blue) Field was born on August 23, 1929, in Doland, South Dakota. She was the daughter of George and Arabella (King) Blue. Wanda was baptized in 1952. She received her education in Litchfield and was a graduate of the Litchfield High School Class of 1947.
On September 23, 1950, Wanda was united in marriage to Raymond Field. After their marriage, the couple resided in Hutchinson. Wanda and Ray were blessed with three children, Douglas, Dennis, and Michael. Ray and Wanda shared 28 years of marriage before he passed away on June 26, 1978.
Wanda was employed at the Hutchinson Hospital in the housekeeping and laundry departments. She was then employed at 3M in the Molding Department until she retired in 1991. Wanda was a member of Vineyard United Methodist Church in Hutchinson.
Wanda enjoyed embroidery and cooking and was especially famous for her fried chicken, chocolate chip cookies, and “Spotted Dog” fruit cake. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a driver for McLeod County Social Services. Wanda also loved to watch many sporting events on television, such as the Timberwolves, Lynx, Twins, and Gophers.
Wanda moved to the Oaks in August of 2017, she enjoyed their noon meals and playing Bingo each week. When she needed additional assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson on October 28, 2018, and passed away there on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at the age of 89 years. I really enjoyed visiting with Aunt Wanda in the last couple of year’s. Each time I came to Minnesota I would take Mom (Donna) down to visit and get caught up with all the relatives. I will miss the visits.
