Wayne Kenning

Obituary

Wayne Joseph Kenning was born on November 21, 1943, in Willmar, Minnesota. He was the son of Alfred and Marie (Neubauer) Kenning. Wayne was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bird Island, Minnesota.  He received his education in Bird Island, and was a graduate of the Bird Island Catholic School Class of 1961. Wayne furthered his education at Mankato Commercial College in accounting for a year.

On April, 20, 1963, Wayne was united in marriage to Maxine Parker at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Mankato, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two children, Roxanne and Kaleene. Wayne and Maxine resided in Hutchinson. They shared 52 years of marriage until Maxine passed away on November 19, 2015.

Wayne was self-employed with insurance and real estate. He retired on January 1, 2006.

Wayne enjoyed pigeons, fishing, gardening, and his lawn mowing service. Wayne was also an avid Minnesota Timber Wolves basketball fan.

Wayne passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Harmony River Living Center, at the age of 73 years.

Daughters, Roxanne Sladek and her husband, Glen, of Hutchinson, MN,
                  Kaleene Kenning of Seattle, WA;
Grandson, Eli Sladek.

Wayne is preceded in death by his Parents, Alfred and Marie (Neubauer) Kenning; and Wife, Maxine Kenning.
