Obituary
William A. "Bill" Husberg was born on September 20th, 1947, in New London, Wisconsin, to Robert and Amanda (Pask) Husberg. Bill was baptized as an infant and later confirmed his faith as a youth. He pursued his education at Valparaiso University and later at Concordia College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he earned his master's degree in religious education and met his future wife, Mary Hensel, who would later become Mary Husberg.
On June 20, 1970, Bill was united in marriage to Mary Hensel at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Winnebago, Minnesota. After marrying, Bill and Mary moved to New York. They later made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota, where they were blessed with two children, Sarah and Mikhael. Bill and Mary shared over 46 years of marriage until Mary's passing on May 17, 2017.
Bill's professional journey began as a dedicated teacher in New York City, where he imparted knowledge and values to students for a number of years. He joined the First Evangelical Lutheran School in Glencoe, Minnesota, recognized as a minister of religious education by the Lutheran Missouri Synod. Bill taught thousands of students across multiple grades, covering numerous subjects. His contributions extended to Green Giant in Glencoe, Minnesota, for 20 years. He retired in June of 2021 from First Evangelical Lutheran School but continued to teach as a substitute, notably at St. John's Lutheran School in Norwood, Minnesota, Emanuel Lutheran School in Hamburg, Minnesota, and First Evangelical Lutheran School and Church in Glencoe, Minnesota.
In his younger years, Bill enjoyed playing basketball and hosted "Men's Night" in Glencoe, Minnesota, for a community of men from the area and the church and school. He stayed active by lifting weights and walking. Bill was also passionate about various home projects, gardening, and music, especially playing the piano. He was a regular viewer of KARE 11 News, and an avid deer hunter, but most cherished was the time spent with his granddaughter, Iris Jade.
