William "Bill" Neubarth age 86, of Winthrop, passed away after a short battle with ALS on Monday, January 25th, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Center in Winthrop.
A Celebration of Life will be Friday, January 29th, 11:00 A.M. at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop with interment at Fort Snelling at a later date. Memorials preferred to the Sibley County Food Shelf.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be Thursday, January 28th, from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop and will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Military Honors by the Winthrop Honor Guard.
Obituary
William “Bill” Otto Willard Neubarth Jr. was born on September 4, 1929, in Winthrop, Minnesota. He was the son of William and Ida (Klabunde) Neubarth. Bill was baptized as an infant on September 14, 1929, by Reverend Wise and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on June 24, 1945, by Reverend Lambert Engwall, both at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop. He received his education in Winthrop.
On March 26, 1951, Bill entered the United States Army and served his country in the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star and the United Nations Service Medal. Bill was Honorably Discharged on March 10, 1953.
On April 11, 1953, Bill was united in marriage to Helen Lindstrand in Winthrop, Minnesota. After their marriage the couple resided in Winthrop. Bill was employed at Larson Hardware and later at Winthrop High School as the custodian. They were blessed with three children. Bill and Helen shared 61 years of marriage before Helen passed away on July 21, 2014.
Bill was a member of First Lutheran Church in Winthrop and the Winthrop VFW Post #4078.
Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, baking, and wintering in Arizona. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
When he needed assistance with his daily care, Bill became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Winthrop on October 21, 2015, and passed away after a short battle with ALS on Monday, January 25, 2016, at the age of 86 years. Blessed be his memory.

Seven Grandchildren, Kyle Rademacher and his wife, Kim, Nikolas Neubarth and his wife, Ashley, Bret Rademacher, Zakary Neubarth, Patrick Neubarth Wiese, Brandon Neubarth Wiese, Trisha Andersen;
Two Great-Grandchildren, Avery Neubarth and Hunter Neubarth;
Sisters-In-Law, Bertha Neubarth of Winthrop, MN, Francis Meuleners of Ft. Washington, PA, Betty Abrahamson of Grand Marais, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his Parents, William and Ida Neubarth; Wife, Helen Neubarth; Grandson, Lukas Neubarth; Son-In-Law, Todd Rademacher; Siblings, Benny Neubarth, Dorothy Budan, Alma Plaman, Gerald Neubarth, Ruben Neubarth, Reynold Neubarth, and Sheldon Neubarth.
