Mackenzie grew up in Lester Prairie and graduated from Lester Prairie High School in 2009. She attended St. Cloud State University for two years and transferred to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus and graduated in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mortuary Science. Mackenzie married Ben Horstmann in 2018 and they have a son named, Hayden and daughter named, Haddie; they currently reside in Lester Prairie. She is a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Mackenzie is active in The NYA West Carver Lions, member of the NYA Area Chamber of Commerce, and a member of The Lester Prairie Business Association. She is an advocate for 11 Angels a non – profit organization to support families in time of pregnancy and infant loss. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, running and decorating.
